Important Note

Sample must be kept tightly capped and transported on ice.  

Sample must be centrifuged immediately and, for the most accurate results, should be analyzed within 30 minutes.  However, an Ammonia Level may be run up to two hours after the sample is drawn if it has been kept on ice or refrigerated.

Sample is NOT stable at room temperature.  Concentrations may more than double in plasma when stored at room temperature for 6 hours.
