Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 15 minutes of collection.

Specimen Type: Tissue
Container/Tube: Sterile container-Swab specimen is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume: As much tissue as possible

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 g 
Collection Instructions:
1. For small specimens, add several drops of sterile saline to keep moist. Do not allow tissue to dry out.

2. Label container with patient’s name, identification number, date and time of collection, and type of specimen.
4. Do not refrigerate.
