Reflex Testing

Blood culture bottles that are flagged as positive will have a Gram stain performed.  If the Gram stain contains organisms, the BioFire Blood Culture ID (BCID) panel will be automatically performed, potentially giving rapid organism identification results to clinicians.  (Unless the gram stain results differ, the BioFire Blood Culture ID panel is only performed on the first positive blood culture bottle)
