Note: An erroneously elavated PSA level can be observed if the specimen is collected following a digital rectal examination, needle biopsy, or transurethral resection.

SHL utilizes an assay manufactured by Siemens for the Dimension EXL 200.  PSA results from assays using different manufacturers or methods may not be comparable.

Specimen Requirements

1.0 mL serum or plasma

NOTE: Serum/plasma should be separated from cells with in 4 hours of collection.
